Overnight snowfall has left many of Devon' roads in a dangerous state - and Stuart Hughes, Devon CC's cabinet member for Highways singled out Okehampton as one of the worst-hit places.

Speaking on BBC Radio Devon at 8.30 am, he reported that roads in and around the town were treacherous as the gritters had been unable to get out. His advice was not to venture out on the roads unless your journey is absolutely necessary.

Okehampton College, Tavistock College and Bridestowe and Boasley Cross Primary Schools are closed for the day.

If you have news of conditions in your street or village, post it below.

He didn't happen to mention if the Town had Parking Meter Machines - the roads would be clear anyway...
