• Elderly lady injured in Whiddon Down accident

  Fire appliances from Chagford, Danes Castle and Middlemoor were mobilised to a report of a road traffic collision on the A30 westbound near Whiddon Down.  The incident involved one private car that had gone into the central reservation. An elderly female casualty was seriously injured and transferred to hospital by ambulance personnel.

  Repairs to sections of the A30 between Exeter and Okehampton damaged by last winter's frost and snow will not begin until the end of June, according to the Highways Agency.
