    At around 2.00pm today (Fri), three fire  crews, two from Okehampton and one from North Tawton, were called to an accident on the A30 between  Drews Cottage and Merrymeet where it was thought people were  trapped.   • Police appeal for witnesses of fatal Dartmoor accident

    At around 8.15pm yesterday (19th September) police received a report of a single vehicle accident on the B3212 between Moretonhampstead and Postbridge.  A car had reportedly collided head-on with a dry stone wall.     Optimistic times. The Oke-Exeter link was scheduled to open last year!
    An enterprising individual, one Chris Bligh, has set up an e-petition asking for the rail link between Okehampton and Tavistock to be re-opened. If 100,000 people sign it in the next year, the subject could be debated in the House of Commons.
