  At around 2.00pm today (Fri), three fire  crews, two from Okehampton and one from North Tawton, were called to an accident on the A30 between  Drews Cottage and Merrymeet where it was thought people were  trapped. When the crews arrived they discovered the accident involved a car and a car transporter. One person was indeed trapped and they were released by the fire crews using small tools. • Police appeal for witnesses of fatal Dartmoor accident

  At around 8.15pm yesterday (19th September) police received a report of a single vehicle accident on the B3212 between Moretonhampstead and Postbridge.  A car had reportedly collided head-on with a dry stone wall. When emergency services arrived the driver, the sole occupant of the car, a red Toyota MR2, was removed and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The road was closed and reopened shortly after 2am after police...

  An enterprising individual, one Chris Bligh, has set up an e-petition asking for the rail link between Okehampton and Tavistock to be re-opened. If 100,000 people sign it in the next year, the subject could be debated in the House of Commons.
