Conservatives achieve an overall majority in Central Devon

On one of the most confusing and intriguing nights in recent electoral history, Conservative Mel Stride achieved a rare result. More than 50% of voters chose him, giving him one of the few genuine mandates in the country.
Despite the much-hyped 'Clegg factor', Lib Dem Phil Hutty could only attract 34.4% of the vote (although in many constituencies this would have seen him elected) and suffered a negative swing of 4.4%. Labour, UKIP and the Greens found themselves as also-rans.
Elsewhere in Devon, the Tories gained Newton Abbot from the Lib Dems, but failed to take Torbay, where Adrian Sanders increased his majority, bucking the national trend.
Okehampton's previous constituency, Devon West & Torridge has still not declared at the time of writing: the count did not start until 10.00am.
As the dust settles, and the parties struggle to find a way of governing the country, what do you feel about the prospect of a hung parliament? How will it affect us, the people of Okehampton and district - if at all?
