It's Heavenly in Okehampton

I first came across the Heavenly Health and Beauty Salon back in September, when writing about places to pamper yourself before winter set in. Then they were located in the Town Hall, but the salon has now moved to new premises in Fore Street: demand for their services has grown so much that they need more space.

I dropped in to see proprietor Jessica Beagent as she was planning their opening party this Saturday (23rd Oct) not quite sure what to expect: beauty salons are not my usual habitat!
Sitting in the reception area I was transported into a different world... one can see why these treatments - and there are many... see their web site for details - are so popular (and not just with women - see below!). Just reading about them felt relaxing.
"So who is Heavenly aimed at?" I asked Jessica.
"All ages and all sorts," was the reply. "Our oldest client is over 80 and the youngest a teenager. She went on, "We're here for everyone. So whether you have a moment in your lunch hour to maintain your manicure, an hour to de-stress or maybe an afternoon to completely relax, Heavenly now provides the perfect environment where you can escape and unwind, finding yourself in relaxing surroundings in the heart of Okehampton."
Jessica agreed with my suggestion that her success was a sign that Okehampton is gradually becoming just a little more sophisticated, and an encouragement for others to set up businesses offering the town a little bit of luxury.
