Brace yourselves for winter - football and rugby begin in earnest this Saturday

This coming Saturday sees the start of all the local football leagues, plus the return of Okehampton Rugby Club to Western Counties West action.

Okehampton Argyle are already two games into the new campaign, but on September 4th the Devon and Exeter league kicks off, involving dozens of local teams.

Here on Okehampton People, the weekend's fixtures will again be published each Friday, with results posted on Sunday. Expect regular match reports from ORFC and Argyle, plus my own very personal view of games in the form of photo reports.

I'd particularly like to hear from Okehampton Hockey Club and North Tawton Rugby Club - and will get along to watch them over the coming months.
