Only three weeks to prepare for new West Devon refuse collections. Are you ready?

A few weeks weeks ago we all received leaflets about West Devon's new refuse collection plans, (see Okehampton People 20.8.10) and we were promised more detailed information and new re-cycling bins. Has anyone seen either yet?

West Devon Council has a long commitment to re-cycling
The new system involves far more re-cycling, garden and food waste collection - and a reduction of 'regular' rubbish collections to fortnightly. (Although I can't see that much will left for that collection after all the recycling!) Details here
It's all going to take a bit of getting used to - and organisation... where to put the bins, when to put what out, and so on.
Torbay have just started a similar system - and judging by the comments posted on Paignton People, all is not running smoothly.
So come on West Devon Council: keep us informed, and give us a chance to get it right!
Let us know here on Okehampton People if you've had more information - and what you think of the new scheme.

I hope we don't suffer like Torbay when we change over to the new system!! http://tinyurl.com/33whldl
