The

best of Devon’s food is combining with the fun of the fair at a brand new event

for the whole family.

Preparations

are underway at Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre near Okehampton for the first

‘Eat the Devon Way’ food extravaganza

next month.  With the oldest working ride in the country, the largest Dodgem

track in the country, the kitsch splendour of the 1940’s Ghost Train, the thrill

of the 1930’s Super Chariot Racer, and traditional games and side shows, Dingles

is already a popular family destination.  Put some of Devon’s best food

producers and chefs into the mix and you have the recipe for a really fun family

day out with a foodie twist.

Added

to this is the extra satisfaction gained from the knowledge the event is helping

to make the most of short and precious lives by supporting Children’s Hospice

South West.

Guy

Belshaw, Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre Location Manager and Press Officer,

says:

“The

Fairground Heritage Centre has been supporting Children’s Hospice South West as

our nominated charity for the past four years.  In particular, the annual carol

service in support of CHSW has become a highlight of our

year.

“We

are delighted to be hosting the ‘Eat the Devon Way’ event.  We know Devon

is famous for producing the finest food and believe our unique vintage

fairground under cover will be the perfect showcase for these wonderful

products.”

Judy

Pride, Community Fundraiser for Children’s Hospice South West,

says:

“What

a fabulous location for a fantastic new event!  If you’re planning a family

outing this Spring Bank Holiday ‘Eat the Devon Way’ really does have something

for everybody – fairground rides, food, and lots of

fun!

“On

top of that you can add ‘fundraising’ as the event is helping to raise vital

funds for our Precious Lives Appeal to build our new children’s hospice, Little

Harbour.  Our huge thanks to Dingles, the organisers from Langage Farm, Hi-Ts

Fudge, and Yarty Valley Cordials, and everyone who goes along to support the

event.”
