Saturday 12th January 1.00 – 3.00pm
Don't miss this great start to a year of celebrations for the Okehampton-based folk arts charity Wren Music's 30th anniversary, in the wonderful setting (and amazing acoustics) of Exeter Cathedral! Enjoy an uplifting afternoon of great music and songs from hundreds of voices and instruments.
There will be performances by Voices In Common Folk Choirs (East Devon Folk Choir, Exeter Folk Choir, North Devon Folk Choir, Torbay Folk Choir, West Devon Folk Choir), Rough Music Folk Orchestras (Folk Orchestra of East Devon, Folk Orchestra of North Devon, Folk Orchestra of Torbay), the Mandolin Orchestra Of Devon, and Devon's youth folk and world vocal ensemble Roots A Capella.
This is the first event of many planned throughout the year.
Many thanks are due to Exeter Cathedral for providing the space to perform. Audience entry is by the standard Exeter Cathedral visitor charge - Adults £5.00, Seniors & Students £3.50, Children under 18 with a family free. Alternatively, please note that a Cathedral Card is available for £5 to people with an 'EX' postcode. This is valid for 12 months and allows free entry to the Cathedral during normal visitor hours. Please contact the Visitors' Office in advance on 01392 285983 or visitors@exeter-cathedral.org.uk for more information.
Further information on Wren Music's full programme of adult and youth folk choirs, orchestras and bands, concerts and dance events throughout Devon, as well as CDs, song and tune books and other publications can be found at wrenmusic.co.uk or by telephoning 01837 53754
