on Saturday 22 May2010 we took our 6 year old granddaughter, to Simmons Park, the weather was great, the children's play area was packed with children and their mums and dads, after a while, my granddaughter needed to go to the toilet, time, about 5.15pm, the nearest toilets where supposed to be at the cafe and sports centre, so we headed over there, quite a distance from the play area, if I must say, for a child who is bursting to go, ( and waited to the last minute because she was enjoying herself with her friends) however when we got there, we where disgusted to find the whole place was closed, with the park full of people, and the sunshine encouraging more people into the park, surely the council have a duty to have these facilities available, in a public area such as this, as it was, we had to leave the park, and drive to friends at Giblands, with the child in tears.

You're right that there should maybe be public toilets closer to the park, but did you really need to go all the way up to Giblands? There's a set of public toilets opposite the Post Office, at the taxi rank, and even just inside Waitrose.

I have also thought that there should be public toilets for people using the park. Maybe the council think it's ok for little boys to wee in bushes or up against trees, but what about the little girls????
