Bring Back Rumours!!

Actually...I'm joking. But Okehampton does need something for us types that like to be social and have a boogie. I'm 23 and am depressed at the fact that I was able to go out clubbing at the age of 16 (ahem), but now I am forced to stay in one of the pubs until closing time or to head elsewhere.

I have been looking forward to Battle of the Bands with great eagerness, unfortunately it's only short term (but great fun in the mean time).
Oke needs something done with the existing Rumours building. I have heard people's ideas for it to be transferred into a bowling alley (god knows how, it's a but short?!). I think it would be a great venue to hold regular live music acts, or to have guest DJs etc. I'm thinking along the lines of the Cavern in Exeter, but not so grungy. The second floor is perfect to view a stage that could be built.
The property is right in town, not down some back alley so is seen by most people (local and visiting). It has the potential to be very lucrative if someone with imagination, drive (and money) were to invest.

It would be interesting to see what views other people have on what could be done with this place, because the longer it sits there, the more people will forget.
