Fire crews called to Exeter Road, Okehampton

In what is proving a busy time for our local Fire Service, Okehampton fire-fighters were called to a property in Exeter Road just after 8.00am today (Sun) after a report of a shed on fire.

When the first appliance arrived, they requested that a second attend as the shed was very close to the property.

This was described as a semi detached house with a single storey outbuilding measuring 5m x 3m, the outhouse being attached to the main house via the roof. 50% of the roof of the outbuilding and its entire contents were severely damaged by the fire,.

The adjoining outbuilding of the neighbours property was also 20% severely damaged by the fire, which is not being treated as suspicious.
