Advice about hearing loss and community transport are among matters being dealt with by West Devon BC's team of advisors when they take to the road in September. Residents are encouraged to come along to the drop-in sessions and chat with an officer from the council, who will also be available to answer a wide-range of other queries about public services.
Some sessions will be attended by a variety of partner agencies such as Action on Hearing Loss (formerly RNID), who will be providing information regarding deaf awareness issues and showcasing a selection of assistance products and services. Also included on some dates will be representatives from Devon Wheels 2 Work, a not-for-profit company offering long term motorcycle and moped loans to enable people to access employment, training and social opportunities.
Okehampton area residents with limited access to transport are invited to meet with an Okehampton & District Community Transport adviser on September 8 in Belstone Village Hall. Okehampton & District Community Transport offer services such as ring & ride and day trips.
On September 9, Dartmoor National Park officers will be in Chagford to hear the views of West Devon residents and talk about their current planning consultation document.
