Vandals set fire to Okehampton paper and clothes banks

A fire engine from Okehampton was mobilised  after smoke was seen coming from a paper bank in a supermarket car park early this morning (Sat).

When they arrived they found  a paper bank well alight, and used a hose reel to control the blaze.  A second fire engine from Okehampton was sent following a request from the incident commander due to a clothing bank also being involved in fire in the same car park.

Both the paper bank and the clothes bank were severely damaged by the fire. The police attended the incident and have appealed for witnesses.
