Tour of Britain comes to Okehampton – details of route

Around 100 of world's best cyclists, including Tour de France winner and Olympic champion Bradley Wiggins and his team mate 2011 World Road Racing Champion Mark Cavendish, will race through Okehampton late Saturday morning as part of stage seven of the Tour of Britain.

Tour of Britain comes to Okehampton
Devon County Council currently estimate the race will enter Okehampton at 11.41 am. The cyclists will travel towards the town on the A386, before peeling off to enter Okehampton via Hatherleigh Road.
They will race along Upcott Hill before entering Market Street. At the top of Market Street, riders will then turn left on to West Street, before heading out on New Road (B3260) See the route at: http://www.devontourofbritain.co.uk/race/route/
The race starts in Barnstaple at 10.15am and takes in Dartmoor National Park before finishing in Dartmouth 106 miles (170.7km) later. By the time riders reach Okehampton, they will have already covered 32 miles.

Correction. The Tour of Britain will turn RIGHT onto West Street, before leaving Okehampton via West Street and New Road.
