Thanks Clr Tony Leach (Independent) Okehampton East

My neighbours and I have been having huge problems with cats fouling in our vegetable beds. Having spent £100 on electronic repellants and fencing to keep them out, they still keep doing their foul business in my beds.
They carry terrible diseases in their faeces and I don't want this in the food I consume. I asked Tony to look at what measures the Council can take to make owners of cats more responible for their pets and stop this nuisance.
Tony was on the case immediately and has asked the legal department to look into this.
I commend you and thank you for your prompt attention Tony. He has similar problems himself so sympathises.
If you are having similar problems let your coucillor.

we all know their is nothing that can be done about cats, its just absolutely a joke, and like we said this councillor leach telling a member of the public that he has contacted the legal department , well beggars belief, its total ROT! My advice to these people are phone the legal department at west devon borough council and state openly that one of their borough councillors has said he has asked if anything can be done about cats, we bet 100 to 1 that they will say they no nothing about it, and there is nothing they can do!!!!! CATS ARE FREE SPIRITS - LIVE WITH IT!

ReportI'm fairly sure there's nothing you can do about this, owners are resonsible legally for their dogs actions but not cats. You can't train them for starters, well not much, you can't very fairly tie them up or lock them in the house.

ReportHere here Tigero, rather mellow dramatic dont you think, obviously you are one of the minority in society that are not pet lovers, sorry about that but britain is a nation of animal lovers! so do us all a favour go back to weeding your vegetable plot and stop all this persistant whinging!

ReportAbsolutely right wurzel; ordinary people have no right to protect their health, enjoy their property or hobby. Such rights er reserved purely for pet owners.

ReportWell said devonshire lad, Do the people of okehampton want to listen to these people moaning on about cats on there vegetable patch NO! some people are never happy in life unless they are moaning or running around stirring up trouble. As for councillor leach going to the legal department about cats well that just about sums up what type of councillors we have running this town. I think when alot of people read this particular piece first, everyone burst out laughing, I absolutely agree they want to get a grip and stop moaning and groaning instead get on with life. we dont need it.
