Teachers' strike will close Okehampton College

Striking members of the NUT and ATL unions will force the closure of Okehampton College  to students this Thursday (30th June).

Although staff who are members of other teaching unions will go to work as normal, they will not cover for their absent colleagues involved in industrial action.

With the exam season finished for the summer, the closure is not expected to cause undue disruption, and the college will re-open as usual on Friday 1st July.

Despite the closure, the sixth form area  will be open for Post-16 students wishing to use college facilities for independent study and continuation of coursework.
