Just before 3.00pm this afternoon (Sun), a member of the public rang from Foggin Tor, near Princetown to say he had seen a Dartmoor Pony that wasn't able to get itself out of a ditch.

One of last year's foals
Our brilliant fire service came to the rescue - how many times has Okehampton People reported their animal-saving activities?
Princetown firefighters, along with Specialist Animal Rescue Team (who were training nearby) normally based at Camels Head, attended and using their knowledge & expertise, assisted the heavily pregnant pony to its feet.
The pony was able to walk away uninjured.
