The environment agency said river levels were expected to rise due to heavy rainfall yesterday and this morning.
The Met Office has issued an amber alert for the South West for Monday due to the increased disruption expected because of the severe weather. Prolonged rain, including torrential downpours are expected throughout the morning in the region.
A flood alert is in place for The Upper River Taw from Sticklepath to Newnham Bridge and the River Okement and its tributaries. Rain has passed through and the river is rising, but slowly. A flood alert means flooding is possible.
Flood warnings have been issued for the roads between Taw Bridge and Newnham Bridge, including Coldridge, Chenson, Eggesford, Chawleigh, Bridge Reeve, Colleton Mills and the B3220 at Taw Bridge. A flood warning means flooding is expected.
Eleven flood alerts have been issued for the South West.
