TEIGNMOUTH manager Geoff Breslan insists confidence is sky-high at the club ahead of their trip to Alphington.

Breslan's side have racked up three straight wins after Saturday's 3-2 win over Appledore.

Sam Chapman opened the scoring after just 16 seconds before Steve Mardell notched a double to seal the win.

And with the win propelling the Teigns up to seventh after a stop-start campaign, Breslan says they will be looking for points at The Chronicles, despite the calibre of opposition.

"The last three games have been very pleasing," he said. "There are obviously some small things we need to work on but in terms of confidence we are way ahead of where we were.

"We are under no illusions of how tough Alphington will be as they are one of the form teams in the division, but we will approach it as we have these last three games and go there with plenty of confidence.

"In the squad we have some very good players. We also have some very good youngsters and we only had three players over 25 in our last game."

Teignmouth have Chapman and Adam Fay unavailable, while Craig Stonelake and Alex Blackburn are injured, with the latter likely to miss the rest of the season.

The Alphas beat Okehampton Argyle 2-1 last time out, with Matt Wonnacott bagging two penalties, despite Steve Madge putting Okey ahead.

Exeter University manager Dave Evans admits his side is low on confidence ahead of Appledore's visit on Saturday, but believes a win is all they need to turn things around.

The Students lost 1-0 at home to Budleigh Salterton last time out courtesy of Mark Lever's effort, while the hosts also saw Lewis Aimson's penalty saved.

It was the University's third defeat, and their second at home, in a row, and Evans feels three points would go a long way to solving the problem.

"I think confidence is a wonderful thing in football, but it can be quite cruel too," he said.

"The first half was fairly even but the second half we dominated, but we missed a penalty and you could almost see the confidence draining away.

"We just need to keep training and make the most of our ability. If we could get one win I think that would do wonders – all we need is that win."

Evans has both captain Nick Peare and Andrew Waddingham out injured.

Budleigh travel to a Newton Abbot Spurs side who won 3-1 at Totnes & Dartington thanks to goals from Adam Dyson, Tim Porter and Kris Davis. Exeter Civil Service go to Galmpton United fresh from beating Ottery St Mary 1-0, with Shaun Densham scoring the winner.

The Otters host Sidmouth Town, who inflicted a first league defeat in almost four months on Stoke Gabriel.

Adam Whittey, Mike Stamp and Andrew Thompson helped the Vikings to a 3-2 win.

Exmouth Town host Totnes & Dartington while Crediton United visit Axminster Town, who lost 4-0 to Liverton United.
